A native New Yorker, Andrew Yalcin is an architectural designer, urbanist, and educator who believes that architecture has the capacity to improve the quality of life. He is committed to craftsmanship in construction and believes that a good city is like a good party.
He holds a Bachelors of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Art from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Preservation, and Planning. Having experience in New York, with stints in Barcelona, and most recently, Istanbul over the past 7 years Andrew has worked on broad range of scales focusing on detail and conceptual experience.
A number of notable projects that are built or currently under construction include the Gas Natural Tower in Barca, The Centre for Translational Medicine at the YLL School of Medicine, the Duke-NUS Graduate School of Medicine, The Bronx School for Writers and Artists, the Sunset Park Science HS, a LEED Platinum Extension for Washington University in St. Louis, UWS New York Residence, and the Lomography Gallery Shop. He has also been a visiting critic at the Pratt Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Parsons the New School for Design, City College of New York, Istanbul Technical University and a Visiting Professor at the New York Institute of Technology. Currently in LA.
